When you choose Texture Plus wall panels, you can be confident that you’re getting a durable and virtually maintenance-free product. In order to keep your Texture Plus looking as new as the day it was installed, we recommend following this simple care and use manual.
Easy care and maintenance guidelines
MAINTENANCE
Texture Plus is made from some of the most durable building materials available. In most cases, normal rainfall is enough to keep it clean for outdoor installations. If cleaning is needed, follow the procedures below:
MODERATE ATMOSPHERIC DIRT
Use a garden hose and a soft-bristled brush (a car-washing brush is ideal) to wash the surface with clear water.
HEAVY INDUSTRIAL ATMOSPHERIC DIRT
Use the following solution to wash the surface: 1/3 cup detergent (e.g., Tide®), 2/3 cup Soilmax or Dirtex, and 1 gallon of water.
CAULKING COMPOUNDS, TAR, SIMILAR SUBSTANCES
Use mineral spirits in reasonable amounts and apply directly to the foreign substance. Rinse the area thoroughly with water after cleaning.
PRESSURE WASHER CAUTION
If you choose to use a pressure washer on Texture Plus, it is important to exercise caution and only use a low setting to avoid damaging the product. The high-pressure water stream from the pressure washer can easily gouge and damage the surface if not handled carefully, much like how wood can be damaged by a pressure washer. To ensure the longevity of your Texture Plus, it is best to use a gentle spray and avoid aiming the water directly at any one spot for an extended period of time.
TOUCH-UP PAINT
Examine your Texture Plus once per year and apply paint to any unpainted raw material. Paint kits are available. Contact our customer service team.
SEALANT
For external installations, you can apply a water-based concrete sealant every 5 years or at the first sign of fading to maintain or restore the original colors and contrast. Apply the sealant with a low-pressure garden sprayer or airless paint sprayer and allow it to run down the surface about 8 inches. Back-roll the wet coat to uniformly force the sealer into the surface.
CAUTION
-Do not exceed the recommended concentrations of cleaners, as this can cause damage to the product.
-Avoid skin and eye contact with cleaning solutions and follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
-Avoid using abrasive-type cleaners and strong solvents. Test any cleaner on an inconspicuous area before applying to major areas.
-To minimize streaking, always follow with a rinse of clear water. Excessive scrubbing is unnecessary and can harm the product, causing an undesirable look in areas over the finish.
CLEANING TEXTURE PLUS PRODUCTS
Texture Plus products are impervious to moisture, but in some environments, dirt, mold, and mildew may accumulate on the surface. Regular cleaning will keep your Texture Plus installation looking great.
For best aesthetics, cleaning is recommended annually or every other year with plain water and a garden hose. If water alone does not remove the dirt, you may use a diluted, mild cleaning solution (e.g., 1/3 cup Tide® or other mild laundry detergent mixed with 4 quarts water) and a soft bristle brush to assist with cleaning. Rinse thoroughly with clear water to avoid staining and streaking.
If Texture Plus products are exposed to salt, sand, or other abrasive materials, clean every 3-4 months to avoid buildup that can damage the product surface.
